ARADCOM

Detroit - Cleveland

Defense Area

[ Home Page | Nike History | Cleveland Sites | Detroit Sites | Links | Contributors | Updates ]

This site is being developed to document the history of the Nike Missile program and the sites within the Detroit - Cleveland Defense Area.  Originally Detroit and Cleveland each had their own Defense Area.  In 1968 the two Defense Areas were combined to form the Detroit-Cleveland Defense Area.  From 1969 to 1971, the Second ARADCOM Region was hosted at D-15DC (Selfridge AFB).  The Second ARADCOM Region was deactivated in June of 1971 and the remaining Detroit sites were merged with the Chicago Defense area creating the Chicago-Detroit Defense Area.  This area remained active until ARADCOM was completely dismantled in 1974.
